Informations

Background:

The Chinese New Year is a celebratory time of year shared by many Asian cultures. Its a time for family, food, firecrackers, lion dances, and for new beginnings.
This is the Year of the Ox , an intelligent animal who is calm but diligent and stubborn. We hope the Ox will bring you prosperity an you join us for this event with special quests and treats.



Notes:
  • This event will be open for 2 weeks, starting on Monday, January 26th and ending on Monday, February 9th.
  • After the event will end, the event items might be removed/changed their effect.




Help Rusbald butcher

Event NPC: Rusbald Butcher

Map: Louyang


Collect 5 Fore Flank Sirlion from the Wild Ox monsters you see around the main towns and give them to Rusbald Butcher.

After completing the task, you may get one of the following items as reward:

  • Honey Herbal Tea (+3 Int for 30 minutes)
  • Clam Soup (+3 Vit for 30 minutes)
  • Tentacle Cheese Gratin (+3 Agi for 30 minutes)
  • Fruit Mix (+3 Dex for 30 minutes)
  • Fried Sweet Potato (+3 LuK for 30 minutes)
  • Bomber Steak (+3 Str for 30 minutes)
  • Special Royal Jelly Herbal Tea (+7 Int for 30 minutes)
  • Steamed Alligator With Vegetable (+7 Agi for 30 minutes)
  • Soul Haunted Bread (+7 Dex for 30 minutes)
  • Assorted Shish Kebob (+7 Luk for 30 minutes)
  • Sumptuous Feast (+7 Vit for 30 minutes)
  • Whole Roast( +7 Str for 30 minutes)

This quest can be repeated.




Help Vagrant Chef

Event NPC: Vagrant Chef

Map: Payon

Help the Chef to retrieve some ingredients, and you will get a special dish from him.

Items:

Set 1:
  • Honey Herbal Tea
  • Clam Soup
  • Tentacle Cheese Gratin
  • Fruit Mix
  • Fried Sweet potato
  • Steak bomber
Reward:

Luxurious Western Style
(AllStats +3 for 60 minutes)


Set 2:
  • Whole roast
  • Special Royal Jelly Herbal Tea
  • Steamed Alligator With Vegetables
  • Soul Haunted Bread
  • Assorted Shish Kebob
  • Sumptuous Feast
Reward:

Manchi-Han Imperial Feast
(AllStats +6 for 60 minutes)

There's chances he will fail making the dish and produce Spoiled Cuisine instead of the chosen set.
This quest can be repeated.



Help the Rice Mill Grandma

Mischievous Dancing Dragon


  • Inside the Payon Inn, Speak with Rice Mill Grandma. She complains about dragons that have stolen all her rice pouches.
  • Bring her a rice pouch. (You can find the dragons around the main towns)
  • She asks you to take the rice pouch to her son.
  • Just outside, give the rice pouch to her son. He will process it into Sweet Rice.
  • Take the rice back to the Grandma. She will reward you with one of the following:
    • 3 Hearty Rice Cake
    • 2 Lucky Rice Cake
    • 2 Honey Pastry
    • 2 Sesame Pastry
    • 3 Salty Rice Cake
    • 3 Plain Rice Cake
    • 2 Rainbow Cake
    • 2 Korean Rice Cake
    • 1 Green Maiden Pet Egg (Given along with one of the other items)
    • 1 Red Envelope (Given along with one of the other items after the player has received the Egg)



Green Maiden

Event NPC: Miss Lunar

Map: Payon

Food Mochi can be found in payon. 10 Mochi for 3,000 Zeny. The NPC will only sell Mochi to characters who have received an Egg from the Grandma.

Note: The Green Maiden Pet Egg can only be awarded once per character.

No headgears in any of the last years officials Lunar events.  Our event has been built by looking at this years mRO and a part of the the past years iRO event.  Sadly, iRO's quality is going down in a bottomless pit.  This year's iRO event isn't even worth reading  (it's just grinding + wild zeny+exp bonus).
